Irish Delight
Recently, a coworker and I got together to concoct some holiday drinks. Our all-time favorite was an Irish Shake, or what we like to call, Irish Delight. Whatever you call it, one thing is for sure – it’s delightful! This would be great to share with your friends and family on St. Patrick’s Day. And if you are planning to have a party, this is an absolute must!
The drink is a combination of creamy stout, whiskey, ice cream, chocolate syrup, and more! Here is what you will need to make this heavenly treat:
THE RECIPE
Ice cream (chocolate or vanilla) – we used French Vanilla
1 bottle of stout (your favorite brand)
Whiskey (your choice, 1 – 4 shots, depending on your taste)
Chocolate syrup
Caramel topping
Whipped Cream
Chocolate shavings ( we used a frozen, full-sized candy bar shaved with a grater)
To a blender:
Add 3 or 4 large scoops of ice cream
Slowly pour in a bottle of stout
Add a few shots of whiskey (we used 3, and it was boozy)
Blend until combined and creamy
Grab a couple of chilled beer mugs. (Our custom beer mugs are the perfect size for one recipe, and we have Irish designs!) Squeeze the chocolate syrup into the glasses while tipping and rotating them at the same time. You will have chocolate swirled in your mug (see our photo). Add the blended shake. Top with whipped cream, caramel syrup, and chocolate shavings. Throw in a couple of straws, toast to luck and long life. Enjoy! Adjust the measurements depending on how many people you are serving, the desired thickness, size of your glasses, and how strong you would like your shake.
For St. Patrick’s Day there’s nothing like good friends, laughter, and these yummy Irish Delights! Seriously, what are you waiting for? Go get the ingredients for this creamy, dreamy treat, get together with your friends and enjoy!
